Veterinary Dermatologist

Sick of the corporate world and feeling like you have no control on how you can practice your specialty? We are seeking a 4th Dermatologist to join our group. Applicants must be Board-Certified or Board-Eligible.

Come where you can play an active role in the management of the clinic and work directly with the dermatologist owner and 2 other boarded dermatologists. We understand what is most important to dermatologists in order to have a fulfilling career.

This opportunity comes at an exciting time as we have moved into our newly built independent and privately owned clinic in an affluent suburb north of Pittsburgh. There are big beautiful windows with natural light in 4 of the 5 exam rooms as well as the waiting room, treatment area and Doctors’ offices. Our office is surrounded by trees and our own flock of turkeys and has been called a park-like setting by our clients.

You will have 5 experienced dermatology technicians, one vet assistant, 2 receptionists and a manager who worked several years as a dermatology technician to assist you. We have all the toys a dermatologist needs, two Stortz video otoscopes, a vet scalpel C02 laser and an 8 slice fan beam CT for those tough otitis cases! All in a separate dedicated special procedure room.

The owner of the practice is looking to reduce her appointment schedule, freeing up some time to spend with her husband, horses and dogs.. The new associate dermatologist will step into a ready made caseload in this 18 year old successful practice with potential for future buy in. The owner wants the practice to remain independent and hopes to sell the practice to her associates down the road.

The compensation and benefits offered are competitive. We can offer you a standard four-day work week that is structured to optimize your personal and professional growth. Salary is a base with production commission. Benefits include: fully paid excellent health, dental and eye insurance, a retirement plan where the business offers a 3 % contribution whether you choose to contribute or not, and a generous allowance for professional development, meeting, and dues.

Pittsburgh has transformed from its steel industry roots into a thriving hub for technology and healthcare and is on the cutting edge in fields like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, energy, life science and health, manufacturing and robotics.

Companies like Google, Uber, and Facebook have set up shop here, drawing on the talent coming out of local universities like Carnegie Mellon. UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center) is one of the top employers in the city, offering a wealth of opportunities in the healthcare sector and providing access to a world renowned health care system.

Pittsburgh itself is also full of natural beauty – there are 15,000 acres of public parks and green spaces in the city’s urban core and more than 13 state parks in the surrounding region.

The city is a huge player in the arts, with more than 32 museums, 30 concert venues and 19 public libraries gifted by steel magnate and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie.

Sports are more than just a pastime in Pittsburgh—they’re a way of life. The city is home to legendary teams like the Steelers (NFL), Penguins (NHL), and Pirates (MLB), and the loyalty of the fan base is unmatched. Embracing the local sports culture is almost a rite of passage for newly minted Pittsburghers.

Plus, you’ll actually be able to enjoy all that Pittsburgh has to offer, thanks to the city’s low cost of living and doing business.
