Job Description:
Your dream job is here! Apex Veterinary Specialists, a privately/dermatologist owned practice, is currently seeking a veterinary dermatologist to join us; the position can be either full- or part-time. You will be joining a team of dermatologists well-established and known in the referral community for providing excellent care to patients and communication with referring vets, as well as a ready-made caseload with dedicated clients. The applicant must be a board-eligible or board-certified veterinary dermatologist or a veterinary dermatology resident completing her/his/their program.
Our practice specializes in outpatient services, dermatology, dentistry and ophthalmology, and is located in the affluent south Denver metro area with great schools. We recently moved into a brand-new facility. State-of-the-art equipment includes video otoscopy (Storz—Telepak+ HD and C-MAC HD), Storz VetPump, CT scanner, VetScalpel Laser, Phovia units, cryotherapy, Leica microscopes, ultrasound and more.
We are committed to providing the highest quality and compassionate care to our patients and clients. Our dermatology-dedicated technicians have many years of dermatology experience. Patients under general anesthesia or sedation always have the availability of a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist.
Did you ever want to perform intradermal allergy testing or skin biopsies on an aye-aye or mangabey or polar bear? Well, you can because we also do pro bono work for the Denver Zoo. We are also active in providing regular continuing education opportunities to the referral community.
Come be part of this phenomenal, collaborative team, and work in a supportive and fun environment! Providing the best care to our clients, patients and referring community starts with providing the best care and support for our staff, something we take great pride in.
A generous benefits package is available (health, dental, vision, 401K, vacation, CE allowance, etc.) with no negative accrual and no non-compete.
Colorado is a beautiful state. The Denver-metro area has more sunny days per year than places like San Diego or Miami Beach. It also has the largest city park system in the USA. On multiple occasions, Denver has been ranked one of the top 10 healthiest cities and pet-friendly cities in the US. The Denver metro area has art, theater, museums, microbreweries, nightlife, shopping and more! Denver is in a semi-arid climate, with typically less than 16 inches of precipitation per year. Of course, the nearby mountains and ski resorts get lots of snow per year—hence Colorado’s world-renown skiing and snowboarding. Colorado also has numerous parks with trails to hike, bike, climb, horseback ride, etc. And many rivers, lakes and reservoirs for water sports. Camping and glamping -yes!
Colorado loves its professional sports teams— go Nuggets, go Broncos, go Rockies, go Avalanche, go Rapids, go Mammoth, go Raptors! We got to touch the Stanley Cup when an Avalanche player brought it by the hospital as a thank you for caring for his pets.
Come join our wonderful group!
