The American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) is dedicated to increasing awareness of the vital role of veterinary dermatologists in animal health. In pursuit of this goal, we develop and provide seminars intended to spark an interest in dermatology among veterinary students.
The goal of these programs are to increase an understanding of and comfort level with veterinary dermatology. These seminars attract veterinary students interested in residency and specialization or those eager to improve their understanding and skills in modern day diagnostics and treatment. This educational event is an excellent opportunity to learn about specializing in dermatology and the different professional avenues for a veterinary dermatologist whether in private practice, academia, or industry.

Since 2012, the ACVD has shared the importance of veterinary dermatology via our Dunbar Gram Outreach Program.
Dr. Dunbar Gram, DACVD was a beloved Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology. A long-time professor of dermatology with the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine’s department of small animal clinical sciences, he championed education and novel approaches to engage his students.
Dr. Gram’s passion and dedication for the education of students in the veterinary medical field was a key inspiration for our Outreach Program. We hope to honor his legacy by showing more veterinary students what it is like to be a dermatologist and inspiring the next generation of veterinarians.
